Archaeometallurgy is the study of ancient metalworking techniques and the role of metals in past societies. It examines the extraction, production, and use of metals, as well as the technology and cultural significance behind metal artifacts. This field combines archaeology, chemistry, and materials science to understand historical metallurgy.  In this lecture, the speaker points to some highlights with respect to the study of metal artefacts, metallurgy and mining and Indian antiquity with examples of her work on medieval bronzes and ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, exploring a range of techniques, including electron probe microanalysis and lead isotope ratio analysis.

हाल ही में चंद्रयान-3 और आदित्य मिशन को इसरो द्वारा किए गए सबसे महत्वपूर्ण और चुनौतीपूर्ण प्रयासों में से एक के रूप में याद किया जाएगा। कई अन्य मिशनों ने भी स्थायी प्रभाव छोड़ा है। कुछ का उल्लेख करने के लिए, 2013 में मार्स ऑर्बिटर मिशन, 2007 में स्पेसक्राफ्ट री-एंट्री कैप्सूल प्रयोग, और आगामी निसार मिशन विविध उद्देश्यों, गगयान या मानव अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम और संसाधनों की सीमाओं के बावजूद इसरो की सफलता की क्षमता के कुछ उदाहरण हैं। यह चर्चा इन मिशनों, मिशन नियोजन और संचालन के दौरान आने वाली चुनौतियों और कार्यान्वित किए गए नवाचारों पर प्रकाश डालती है।

Whether it is plankton in the ocean, dust-storms or water droplets in clouds, small particles in flow display a range of interesting behaviour, and in particular show a propensity to clumping. In this talk we will discuss how we may approach this problem, and the multiple approximations involved. And how a departure from sphericity affects interactions between the particles, and modifies clumping via the suppression of an instability.
