National Science Day - 2020

National Science Day will be celebrated at Physical Research Laboratory on Saturday, 29th February 2020. On this occasion, Aruna Lal Scholarships and other prizes will be awarded to meritorious students selected based on a screening test at designated test centres, followed by competitive events and personal interview at PRL. The Aruna Lal scholarship has been instituted by Late Prof. Devendra Lal, former Director of Physical Research Laboratory.

  • Application and Eligibility: Principals of higher secondary schools of Gujarat are requested to nominate students of 11th standard (Science stream). Please register the school using the School Registration menu and subsequently nominate your student(s). The schools having multiple mediums (English/ Gujarati/ Hindi) can register each medium separately. Each medium can nominate a maximum of seven students.

  • Screening Test: A screening test will be conducted on Sunday, 5th January 2020. The screening test will be held in offline mode and online mode. The Offline test (i.e. OMR based exam) will be held at 16 different centres across Gujarat. The school principal has to opt either offline or online mode of exam during school registration. The school opting for online exam must comply the terms and conditions and facilitate the exam in their school for their students.

  • Selection Procedure: Top 150 students in the merit list of the screening test will be selected for subsequent round of competitive events to be held at Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad, on Saturday, 29th February 2020.
