Hale Region 17644 produced a Sn flare, beginning at 0731 UT on 15 May, 1981. An interesting filament structure at location F indicates large magnetic gradients in the NW-direction. This flare developed along the filaments in NE- direction at the same location where a huge 3b flare was observed earlier on May 13.
