Boulder No. 4441 ( N 11 e 77), which gave rise to a limb flare on the previous day, once again gave an intense limb flare beginning at 0803 UT (as indicated by the X-ray flux C3.6). The first optical observations which began at 0806 UT, showed a fast rising loop structure with several knots moving at a very high speed. The frame at 080815 UT indicates a helical structure in the rising column of material, which turned into a fast moving surge at 080850 UT, reaching a maximum height of around 250,000 kms above the limb. The surge exhibited filamentary structure in later phases.
