A flare occured behind the limb at 0830 UT as indicated by X-ray flux (C8.0) measurement reaching the peak X-ray intensity at 0835 UT. This flare ejected an intense bright blob of matter first observed at 0836 UT which shot out with a high speed. From the same active region (NOAA No. 4441; N 11 E 90 ) a moderate surge activity ensued at 0900 UT, lasting about 14 minutes.
