PRIME (PRL Research Information and Metrics Engine)


It is a cutting-edge Research Information Management System (RIMS) developed to streamline and centralize research data management at the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL). Designed to enhance institutional research visibility and foster innovation, PRIME empowers PRL's research ecosystem by offering seamless integration, advanced analytics, and efficient data handling.

Annif: Library Cataloging with AI/ML


The PRL Library is exploring Annif, an AI/ML-based semi-automated indexing system, to enhance assigning subject heading. Annif, installed in a Python virtual environment, is trained on the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) in Turtle format.

QueryQuest: A AI Powered library Chatbot


Library reference services have undergone significant changes over the past few decades, driven by technological advancements and evolving user expectations. From traditional in-person assistance to AI-powered chatbots.

This AI-powered chatbots (QueryQuest) design and developed at PRL Library for providing accurate, timely access to resources, find books,support research needs, etc.

AI/ML in PRL Library


Library reference services have undergone significant changes over the past few decades, driven by technological advancements and evolving user expectations. From traditional in-person assistance to AI-powered chatbots.

A Prototype AI-powered chatbots (RuleEase) design and developed at PRL Library for providing accurate, timely access to official rules, regulations, codes, and orders relevant to personal administration, as issued by the Ministry of Finance and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India.

Archives@PRL


A digital archival system has been designed and developed inhouse using DSpace. It serves as a single window archiving facility for all the PRL scholarly works.

Digitization and Archival facility at PRL


The project of digitization of old & rare materials since the inception of PRL is designed to preserve and provide access to historically significant and rare materials, ensuring their availability for future research and scholarship. The initiative employs advanced digitization techniques that emphasize accuracy and consistency while producing high-quality digital surrogates of manuscripts, photographs, and other archival items.

SpaceCat: A Union Catalogue of DOS/ISRO Libraries


The Antariksh Gyaan Committee entrusted the PRL Library with the task of developing a Virtual Union Catalogue for the DOS/ISRO libraries on SpaceNET . The goal was to create a unified system to enhance resource sharing and accessibility across DOS/ISRO centers.
