The main office campus of Udaipur Solar Observatory is located at the N W shore of the Lake Fatehsagar, near Badi Road – Rani Road Junction.

 

This campus of USO is about 2 km from the Fatehpura Circle and about 1 km from the nearest residential area, Dewali, Udaipur.

The distance of Udaipur airport (Maharana Pratap Airport, Dabok, Udaipur) is about 25 km from this USO campus, and the main railway station of Udaipur (Udaipur City Railway Station) is situated about 10 km from this campus.

 

How to reach USO Main Office Campus

 

From Udaipur Airport

Pre-paid taxis are the recommended way of reaching USO main office campus from the Udaipur airport.
There are counters for pre-paid taxis before you exit the arrival hall. Specify your destination as “Badi Road, Dewali, Near Fatehpura”.

The charge of the pre-paid taxi would be around Rs. 700-800 from Udaipur airport to USO main campus.

From Udaipur City Railway Station

Taxis and auto-rickshaws are available outside the railway station. There is no meter system available with these taxis and auto-rickshaws, and hence one has to bargain with these fellows.

The normal charge of a taxi would be around Rs. 250-300 and that of an auto-rickshaw would be around Rs. 125-150 from the Udaipur railway station to USO main campus.

Radio-taxi services (OLA/Taxi-for-Sure cabs) are also available from the Udaipur airport and railway station.

Location of Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO) Residential Campus

 

 

 

The residential campus of USO is located about 2 km further away from the USO main office campus on the Badi Road. This campus is behind the Police Officers Mess on the Badi Road.

Some of the staff members and the JRFs/SRFs/PDFs of USO stay in this residential campus of USO. A transit accommodation facility is also available at this campus for the temporary visitors at USO.

The taxi fare for reaching this campus from the Udaipur airport would be around Rs. 800-900 and the auto-rickshaw fare from the Udaipur railway station to this campus would be around Rs. 150-200.

 

Location of Amantra Hotel, Udaipur

 

 

 

The USO guests are generally accommodated in the Amantra Hotel, Udaipur. This hotel is located near Saheliyon Ki Badi, New Fatehpura, Udaipur.

The taxi fare for reaching this hotel from the Udaipur airport would be around Rs. 700-800 and the auto-rickshaw fare from the Udaipur railway station to this campus would be around Rs. 100-125.So guests are generally accommodated in the Amantra Hotel, Udaipur.
