This sequence of H-alpha photographs shows a bipolar spot group,designated Hale No. 16747. The spot-group produced altogether 87 flares reported during its disk-passage,i.e. ,April 4-13.Development of an umbral flare in the trailing spot, Q, is shown here.An Sb flare occurred around the filament, F, at 0403 UT.Later, two compact flare kernels developed at Q alongwith a flare-ribbon nnear F. The umbral flare decayed rapidly thereafter.
