May 24, 1981

Here the Hale active region No. 17644 is seen close to the western limb. This region gave a number of very intense flares during its disk passage from May 10 to 24, 1981. Very bright blob of material shows up over the W-limb at 0400 UT. Around 0423 UT several threads of loop structure appear moving upwards, apparently energized by an Sf flare at 0417 UT. The frame at 0448 UT exhibits material moving towards an adjacent center of activity.
