A collection of sophisticated microscopes is available at Ion Probe Lab. The microscopes are used for observing the prepared samples, check for the goodness of surface polish. Provision for different magnifications is offered by these microscopes and samples can be observed with transmitted or reflected light depending on user's choice. A micromanipulator is recent addition in this laboratory which is being used to pick up small grains for sample mounting.
