Online Examination
We have developed a web-based application (teamwork) to take online MCQ and Typing Skill Tests examination of candidate/employees. The software was extensively used in PRL during Hindi Typ- ing contests and in various (temporary positions) screening tests. So far more than 20 examinations have been conducted successfully using this software. I have also implemented an open-source online examination software that is customized for PRL needs. Using this customized software, we have conducted various online tests of Hindi Pakhawada (All tests in the Hindi Language) and online MCQ based test (which was tri-lingual in English, Hindi, and Gujarati) of National Science Day 2019. The NSD-2019 test was carried out in Online and Offline (OMR based) mode. The online test was taken over the Internet where schools students can log in from their school and appear for the exam. To successfully conduct the test, I prepared three servers in load balance + high availability mode. The NSD-2019 test was served in reverse proxy mode from the PRL web-server. Total of 229 students participated in this exam in online mode.
OMR based examinations
Since all tests cannot be taken in online mode due to restricted general-purpose PCs available in PRL, I also implemented an OMR based examination software for PRL. This software is used to take the screening test of various permanent and temporary positions in PRL. The OMR sheets are being designed in MS-Excel and pre-processing is done using an open-source software. The post-processing of the OMR sheet is done by a software developed by me. The post-processing software is capable of generating the final result sheet of students and can show students OMR evaluations with true/false and total marks within OMR. It can also send an email of OMR to each candidate with his/her result details. The OMR based examination is being used since NSD-2016 and an average of 1500 students participate per exam. Screening tests of the permanent post like Scientific Assistants and Technical Assistants also have been processed through this software. JRF, Office Trainee, Computer Operator Trainee, etc. temporary posts screening exam has also been taken by this software.
