General Research Interests
My research interest broadly revolves around the cycling of bio-available elements
in various ecosystems on different spatial and temporal scales. I normally employ elemental and isotopic
approaches to understand the interactions among physical, chemical, and biological processes that control the distribution these elements within the Earth System, which ultimately regulate our environment and climate.
Current Research Projects
Transport and evasion of nitrogen and carbon from Indian rivers and canals
Role of desiccation on cycling of bio-available elements in saline and haypersaline lakes
Effect of tidal cycling and anthropogenic perturbations on biogeochemistry of estuaries and adjacent coastal waters
Role of trace elements and nutrient limitation on carbon and nitrogen assimilation in the northern Indian Ocean
Nitrogen and carbon transformation and greenhouse gas production (and consumption) in soils from different ecozones of India
Human-Fire-Climate relationship in the Himalayan region
Nitrogen cycling in the Precambrian basins of India.
