The International Heliophysical Year (IHY) will celebrate in 2007-2008 the 50th anniversary of the International Geophysical Year (IGY). The IHY is one of the four Earth related activities that will participate in this anniversary together with International Polar Year , Electronic Geophysical Year , and International Year of Planet Earth. The Indian scientific community interested in studies of space weather and related topics, plans to coordinate and contribute to the IHY by actively participating in all aspects of the IHY program from Helioseismology, Solar studies at optical and radio wavelingths, Heliospheric and Magnetospheric studies. The coordination for this activity will take place via the IHY - India Section that has been organised into 6 separate working groups covering various scientific topics,
The contributions from India have begun to be organized through the web page of the Indian section of the IHY wherein, you can find a list of Working Groups coordinating various themes, a list of meetings of interest for our purposes and a link towards other. One can register and update his/her membership information online. This web page will evolve rapidly with the increase of activities related to the IHY.
