Hari Om Ashram Prerit Senior Scientist Award - 2010
The Physical Research Laboratory invites nominations for the Hari Om Ashram Prerit Senior Scientist Award instituted to commemorate the Birth Centenary of Pujya Shri Mota, Founder of the Hari Om Ashram, Nadiad.
The award is presented to an eminent Indian Scientist for his/her innovative and outstanding constributions in Science & Technology and is given once every two years. The award consists of a Silver Plaque, a Citation and a Cash Prize of ` 2,00,000/-.
The last date for receiving nominations for the Award of 2010 is 15th March 2011. The nomination should include a brief biodata of the nominee along with a summary highlighting his/her scientific constributions and achievements and should be sent to the Director, Physical Research Laboratory, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad - 3800 009.
Hari Om Ashram Prerit Vikram Sarabhai Research Awards and PRL Award
Nominations are invited for the Shri Hari Om Ashram Prerit Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Research Awards and PRL Award, for the year 2011. The former awards were established from funds provided by Pujya Shri Mota of Hari Om Ashram, Nadiad, while the latter was instituted from the Aruna Lal Endowment Fund established by Prof. Devendra Lal, Honorary Fellow and former Director of PRL. The awards, given in alternate years, consist of a cash prize of ` 50, 000/- and a medal and will be given to outstanding Indian Scientists, who are below 45 years of age (born on or after 2.1.1966), on 1st January of the award year for their original work in the following fields:
A. Hari Om Awards, one each in the following four disciplines:
1) Space Sciences (including Astronomy, Astrophysics, Planetary and Atmospheric Sciences).
2) Space Applications (in the areas of Meteorology, Hydrology, Remote Sensing and related Ground Truths).
3) Electronics, Informatics, Telematics and Automation.
4) Systems Analysis or Management, including non-linear, non-equilibrium systems in natural and social sciences and technology.
B. PRL Award for
Innovative theoretical and or experimental studies in earth and planetary systems, including areas of oceanography, atmospheric sciences and meteorology.
Although the overall work of the candidates would be taken into account, the work done in India would be given prime consideration.
The selections for the year 2011 will be completed by the second quarter of the year 2012 and the awards will be presented in August 2012.
The last date for receiving nominations is February 29, 2012. Nominators are required to send 2 copies of the nomination along with a CD, in the format attached, in a cover marked ‘confidential’, addressed to the Director, Physical Research Laboratory, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad-380009.

Buti Foundation Award
Starting from 2007, PRL has instituted Buti Foundation Award, along the lines of
Hari Om Awards, from an Endowment fund established by the Buti Foundation, Delhi. The award is given biennially to a person below 45 years for innovative and outstanding research work done in India in the field of Plasma Science and Technology.
The award carries a Citation, a Medal and a Cash Prize of ` 50,000/-.
The last date for receiving nominations for the award for 2011 is April 30, 2011.Details and proforma for nomination are provided in the link given above.
